What can you do with piles of used tincans and bags of bottlecaps?  Well, if you’re a garden club member you go to a workshop to learn how to make a tinman to hang in your garden.  Remember the Wizard of Oz? You’ll smile every time you look at your tinman and think of what a great time you had making it.

Nearly a dozen members punched holes, wired cans, painted and screwed on bottlecaps to craft a whimsical ornament for the yard.

Supply List:

1 medium funnel

1 medium vegetable or fruit can

1 big coffee can

8 small vegetable or fruit cans

2 sardine cans

2 lids from tomato paste

5 round metal pop or beer caps

1 tuna can

2 pieces of cut metal for nose and mouth  (Optional)
